President Vladimir Putin said that IS is being funded by 40 countries including G20 members at the G20 summit which has sent shock waves across the globe.
During the summit, Putin said, “I provided examples based on our data on the financing of different Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) units by private individuals. This money, as we have established, comes from 40 countries and, there are some of the G20 members among them,” Putin told the journalists.
He also raised concerns over the rising illegal trade of oil and petroleum products by the IS. He said that photographs taken from space and aircraft shows the scale of illegal trade of oil and petroleum products undertaken by the IS.
He also urged not to indulge in debate over which country is less or which country is more in fight against the IS as it is time for all the countries to join hands in the fight against the IS.
