India and Pakistan to solve Kashmir’s matter: US

With Kashmir’s issue sparking controversies in international platforms, the United Nations has said that India and Pakistan are the ones that would determine pace, scope and features of any discussion on Kashmir.
 
 
State department Spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau is reported saying that their position on Kashmir has not changed. It is for India and Pakistan to determine any pace, scope and discussions on Kashmir. 
 
 
Also, according to the spokesperson, US support any positive steps taken by India or Pakistan to improve their relations.
 
 
As per several media reports, spokesperson said that violent activities in the valley is a matter of concern for them.
 
 
Also, US encourage both the countries to solve the matter peacefully.   
 
 
Apart from these, the spokesperson chose not to comment on PM Modi’s speech delivered on India’s 70th Independence Day.
