Popularly known as ‘Bakrid’, Eid al Adha has gripped the nation in its captivating charm and charisma today with delight and craze very well seen on the faces of people celebrating the festival.

As the festivities began, hoards of people were seen offering their prayers at several mosques and Eid-Gahs. Jama Masjid, famous for being one of the biggest Mosques in India to hold around 25000 at a time was flooded with people offering prayers.

Bakrid is celebrated by sacrificing goat, buffalo, sheep or camel, so, sacrificial meat was also distributed among people celebrating the festival after prayers were offered.

On this auspicious day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation by saying, “Id-ul-Zuha greetings. May this festival enhance the spirit of peace & togetherness in our society.”
