After comedian-actor Kapil Sharma in his tweet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed about an officer seeking bribe of Rs 5 lakh from him, the whole government of Maharashtra was set trembling.
Consequently, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured Kapil of taking strictest action against the accused officer.
Kapil tweeted and said that he pays Rs 15 crore as tax and now for making his office, he has to pay Rs 5 lakh to BMC officer every year.
The comedian also questioned Modi for his ‘Achhe Din’.
While Fadnavis was seen to be on the side of Kapil, BJP legislator chided Sharma for not complaining about officer immediately and using social media to air his grievances.
In addition to that, he also said that no matter how much tax Kapil pays, corruption is corruption.
Meanwhile, Vigilance Officer Manohar Pawar said it had taken a serious view of the corruption allegation and asked Sharma to lodge a formal complaint and identify the officer who demanded bribe.
