Pakistan not sincere to improve ties with India: RSS

Senior leader of RSS - Dattatreya Hosabale

Lahore visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for better ties between two countries, not well taken by RSS. Senior leader of the organization, Dattatreya Hosabale suggested that sincerity aspect of Pakistan needed to be kept in mind while making attempts to improve ties.

Hosabale commented that Modi's unannounced visit to Lahore on 25 December 2015 had ended up in Pathankot terror attack, just like former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's bus yatra to the Pakistani city had met a similar fate.

The Lahore bus yatra of Vajpayee in 1999 ended at the Agra Summit. The visit of Prime Minister to meet Pakistan Prime Minister at his Lahore residence ended in Pathankot. Whatever attempts you make, the problem is Pakistan is that they are anti-India and anti-Hindu sentiment, he said.

I do not opposed to maintaining good ties with Pakistan but while making the attempts, we must ensure their sincerity in taking it forward," Hosabale said.

Despite many talks, there has not been any movement, even an inch, in resolving the problems between the two countries as Pakistan considers India as its enemy, he added.
