Nation remembers late Rajiv Gandhi on his 25th death anniversary

 Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was remembered on Saturday on his 25th death anniversary. 

 
 
Several leaders including President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari, paid homage to him at his memorial.
 
 
Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India, serving from 1984 to 1989. He took office after the 1984 assassination of his mother, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, to become the youngest Indian Prime Minister.
 
 
Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in a suicide bombing attack on 21st May 1991. 
 
 
His wife and Congress president Sonia Gandhi also paid homage to him along with her sonRahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi. Her son in law Robert Vadra was also there.
 
 
Along with them, senior party leaders including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Gulam Nabi Azad, Ahmed Patel, Sushil Kumar Shinde, PC Chacko, Sheila Dikshit, and DPCC President Ajay Maken, paid tribute to him.
