Earthquake hits north India, Pakistan, Afghanistan

 A major earthquake, measuring 6.8 on Richter Scale shook parts of India, Afghanistan and Pakistan on Sunday evening, officials and residents said.

 
Tremors jolted buildings in the national capital and surrounding regions, residents said.
 
Quake was also felt in Srinagar and elsewhere in Jammu and Kashmir besides Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. 
 
The tremors hit Kabul hard, Xinhua news agency said. 
 
Pakistani media said the tremors were strongly felt in Lahore and other parts of Punjab province.
