Call failures between Jio and telcos reduces

The quantum of daily call failures between Reliance Jio Infocomm and India’s top three telcos has reduced over the last fortnight.

Calls with Bharti Airtel showed the most improvement with the provisioning of additional points of interconnection (PoIs).

Daily call failures between Jio and Airtel’s networks are down to 56% which was nearly 73% on September 23, while it’s at 62% with Idea Cellular compared with over 75% earlier.

Call failure levels with Vodafone India however continue to be as high as 75%, though it’s a bit lower from the 83.5% recorded earlier.

The call failure rates though are still far higher as per the mandated by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

TRAI has set October 17 as the deadline for incumbent mobile phone companies to comply with the quality of standards norms.
