Facebook launches Standalone app

Social network giant, Facebook has introduced a standalone app to enable its users keep a tap on nearby events.

As per the company, this app will help you in getting the whole information about nearby events from festivals to neighborhood fairs and nightlife.

Presently, there are no such options. When a person opens events on Facebook, only   events your friends are interested in, recently announced events by the Pages you like, and updates from events you are already connected to are visible to him.

Now, with this app, users will be able to event recommendations based on time, location and their interests and can also explore events happening using the interactive map.

Apart from that, users can also keep a check on upcoming events in the calendar. The calendar lets them see which days they are already attending an event and when they are free.

The app is available in the App Store for iPhone users in the US and soon will be coming to Android as well.
