‘BJP playing naked power game in Uttarakhand’

Upping the ante against Centre over the Uttarakhand crisis, Congress on Sunday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is playing a naked power game over government formation in the state.

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit asked if a ruling party like the BJP plays such a naked power game, where will democracy go.

Nation must condemn what the BJP is doing in state, he was quoted as saying in a media report.

State Governor  Krishna Kant Paul had on Saturday asked Chief Minister Harish Rawat to prove majority in the House by March 28.

Congress Government in Uttarakhand is in crisis at the moment as nine party MLAs  joined hands with the BJP last Friday.

A BJP delegation also met Governor and demanded dismissal of Harish Rawat-led Government, stating that it was in a minority.

BJP staked claim to form government in the state with the support of rebel Congress MLAs.
