The apex court declined to listen to the the plea on Jat agitation, saying that matters like these should be left for the government to handle.

It was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), which sought its intervention into the law and order breakdown relating to the pro-reservation protest being carried out by the members of Jat community in Haryana.

The Supreme Court said that leaders should take stock of the situation and sort it out.

Urging protestors to maintain peace in the state, the court said that such issues not be brought before it.

The members of the Jat community have been protesting for the last eight days demanding reservation in government jobs.
