9 Maoists surrender to Jharkhand’s DGP

Nine Maoist guerrillas have surrendered to Jharkhand’s Director General of Police, DK Pandey at police headquarters.
 
At the time of surrender, two of the Maoists were seen to be fully armed. 
 
All of them belonged to illegal organization People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI).
 
The group included Lal Bihari Singh, one of the area commanders of PLFI. 
 
As per surrender and rehabilitation policy of the Jharkhand government, all those who have surrendered will
be given cash and other facilities.
 
More than 100 Maoists have surrendered in Jharkhand in recent years. The Maoists are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
