Maoists kill 3 in Jharkhand

Maoists have killed three villagers and injured four others in Jharkhand's Khuti district.

 
Militants belonging to banned People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) fired extensively on villagers, who had gathered for a Gram Sabha meeting on Monday night. 
 
Three people died on the spot while four were injured. The injured were rushed to a hospital in Ranchi.
 
The incident took place at Raytodang village situated under Arki police station of Khuti district. 
 
Police sources were quoted in media as saying that the PLFI militants are frustrated with the villagers for regularly holding meetings against them. 
 
The Maoists are active in 18 of the 24 districts in Jharkhand.
