Kashmir shut for 74th consecutive day

 Kashmir Valley remained shut for the 74th successive day on Tuesday with authorities deploying tight security in Srinagar and other districts to maintain law and order.

 
There would be no curfew anywhere.
 
Public transport, educational institutions, main markets and other businesses have remained shut.
 
Some vehicular movement was visible on roads in uptown Srinagar although inter-district public transport did not operate.
 
At least 89 people were killed and over 11,500 injured in the ongoing unrest that began on July 9.
