Life back on track in Tamil Nadu

Life was back on track in Tamil Nadu on Saturday after a peaceful shutdown Friday over Cauvery waters dispute, marred only by death of a victim who self-immolated.

 
Shops, petrol pumps, private schools and other establishments which were closed on Friday, resumed their daily work.
 
Different organisations representing traders, farmers, , transporters demanding Cauvery river water and protesting against attacks on Tamils and their property in Karnataka had called the general strike on Friday .
 
Several vehicles from Tamil Nadu were burnt by protestors in Karnataka over Supreme Court's order on September 12 to release 12,000 cusecs of Cauvery water per day to Tamil Nadu.
 
There were several instances where truck drivers from Tamil Nadu were humiliated and assaulted by the demonstrators in Karnataka.
