The Karnataka bandh called by pro-Kannada outfits to protest against the Supreme Court's ruling to release Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu threw normal life out of gear in many parts of the state.

As per reports, thousands remained stranded at the Bengaluru international airport.
Bandh has hit the city the most with the government extending its tacit support to the protestors.
All modes of public transport such as state run buses, autorickshaws, tourist abs and airport cabs - remained off road since morning.
However, South Western Railways said none of its trains has been cancelled. Any such call will be taken if there is any forced disruption of the services.
Opposition parties like BJP and JD(S) have supported bandh call.
Most private companies, have announced they will remain shut. Bank services are also expected to take a hit.
