Maoists torched nearly six vehicles and machines of a construction company in Bihar's Gaya district on Monday.
"A group of Maoists attacked the camp of SP Malik Company Private Limited on Gaya-Wazirganj road. They torched six vehicles, including their machines for not paying levy demanded by the outfit," a district police official said.
Maoists also assaulted employees of the construction company, which is engaged in construction of a railway overbridge in the district.
They are paid levy by private construction companies, contractors, traders, businessmen and even government officials in rural areas of the state.
Police have lodged a case n the matter and probe is on.
