Punjab government hikes Dearness Allowance by 6 percent

The Punjab government has announced 6 per cent hike in dearness allowance for its employees and pensioners due from July 1, 2015.

 The Punjab government has announced 6 per cent hike in dearness allowance for its employees and pensioners due from July 1, 2015.

 
The finance department issued a satement which said that 6 per cent hike in DA would be paid to employees in cash with January’s salary or pension. 
 
With this hike of 6 percent, the rate of DA would enhance to 113 percent of basic pay/pension .
 
The 6 per cent hike in dearness allowance would put an additional burden of Rs1,000 crore on the state exchequer.
