State wide protests in UP today by the BSP workers

Workers of the Bahujan Samaj Party gathered near Hazratganj, Lucknow and commenced the protest against the BJP. BSP called for state-wide protests in Uttar Pradesh to condemn the derogatory remarks of Dayashankar Singh.

A large number of BSP party workers assembled at public places and crossings in Banda, Fatehpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Sultanpur, Bahraich, Ghaziabad, Agra and Ghazipur and called for protest until the BJP leader goes behind the bar.

BSP Chandigarh Unit Chief Jannat Jahan said she will give reward of 50 lakh to person who gets Dayashankar's tongue. In Delhi too BSP workers protest at Jantar Mantar against Dayashankar Singh for his derogatory slur.

Commenting on the matter, Venkaiah Naidu I&B Minister said, “We have taken action against Dayashankar, issue has ended now.” He further added, “Let protests happen. BSP knows that BJP is moving forward in UP. That is the sole reason of their fight is with the BJP.”

“Dayashankar must be put behind bars for such a mentality. Matter does not end by just apologizing,” said Satish Mishra, BSP general secretary.

BJP’s state vice-president Dayashankar Singh had compared former chief minister of UP, Mayawati to a prostitute while accusing of her selling party tickets on Wednesday. The remark cost him his position in the party. He was immediately expelled from the party for six years.
