Suspicious bag found in Dubai-Amritsar SpiceJet flight

An unclaimed baggage causes panic at Amritsar's Sri Guru Ramdas International airport on Thursday morning. After the chaos, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has taken the baggage in a protected area and begun investigations.

The aircraft was removed from the runway and parked in an isolated spot for the search. The information regarding the bag was received through an anonymous call. Flight operations at the airport were suspended following the incident.

Sources said that in investigations it was revealed that the baggage belonged to an Indonesian Muslim woman who didn't board the plane after checking in at Dubai airport. The woman is later held by security officials at Dubai airport for questioning.

The suspicious bag was found in SpiceJet Flight 56, which departed from Dubai at 4.05 am, arrived today morning at 8.51 am in Amritsar. CISF said they were investigating into the matter.
