Elections in Kerala are all set to take place on Monday and there are 1,125 candidates taking part in polls.
Out of 1,125 candidates, a total of 202 are crorepatis with the average assets per candidates is of around 1.28 crores and 311 have declared criminal cases against themselves.
According to Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) , the crorepati candidates include 43 from INC, 24 from CPI(M), 18 from Bharat Dharma Jana Sena, 2 from AIADMK, 17 from IUML9 from Kerala Congress (M) and 30 independent candidates have declared assets worth Rs 1 crore and above in their affidavits.
Out of the 311 candidates who have declared themselves criminal, 72 candidates from CPI(M), 42 from BJP, 37 from INC, 13 from Bharat Dharma Jana Sena, 15 from CPI, 6 from IUML, 25 from SDPI while 43 are independent.
Apart from these, 496 candidates out of these 1,125 have not declared their PAN details, while 834 have declared income tax details.
669 have declared their educational qualifications to be 5th pass and 12th pass and 380 have declared themselves to be graduate or above. 29 are simple literate while 7 are completely illiterate.
On a feminist note, 104 women candidates are there.
The elections will take place on May 16.
