Search for Oil India Limited CMD comes to dead end

 India's second largest public explorer Oil India Limited (OIL) is headless since last 20 months. Now, the government has issued a fresh advertisement for suitable candidates.

 
This new advertisement says experience in oil sector only desirable. According to advertisement posted on DoPT's website. It states that the experience in oil sector only diserable for the applicants. It has candidates from central public sector enterprises, group A services or officials from Armed forces holding the rank of major general or above to fill up the post of CMD.
 
This post is being held currently by petroleum ministry additional secretary and 1985 batch Odisha cadare IAS Upendra Prasad Singh. He is a very powerful bureaucrat and insider say he is close to the minister Dharmendra Pradhan. 
 
A committee will decide the selection procedure and it has the power to recommend relaxation in eligiblity, age and qualifications criteria in respect of outstanding candidates. It means the committee has free hand to choose the candidate as it wants.
