Punjab and Haryana High Court allowed the Haryana government to implement its transfer policy for teachers. The nod to release the transfer list was given by the HC after hearing an application filed by Haryana government seeking clarification of the previous order.
Earlier, the HC had ordered to maintain status quo on releasing the list of transfers in accordance with its newly carved policy.
On July 14, Justice Rajive Narain Raina of the HC had stayed the policy and directed the state education department to collect fresh data of teachers before launching the transfer process.
The court had also directed the director of secondary/elementary education to collect data from all schools with respect to length of posting of each teacher in the school and put the result of the exercise in the public domain so that each teacher knows where he/she stands.
When the state's plea for clarification of previous order came up for hearing on Monday, the counsel for Haryana government pleaded that necessary clarifications have been issued regarding the transfer policy and the department is unable to process the transfers because of the stay order.
Hearing this, the HC asked the Haryana government to go ahead with the transfers as per its policy.
The HC, however, clarified that in case of any difficulty in future regarding the transfer and supplementary policy, the teachers may approach the director with their grievances.
