MPs may expect a 100 percent salary hike
Taking the basic pay from 50,000 to one lakh per month, the centre has decided to double the salaries of Members of Parliament (MPs) by giving a 100 percent hike.

According to several reports, the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) has agreed to consider the recommendation made by Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament.

Interestingly, the committee is headed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogi Adityanath.

Other than MPs, the PMO has also agreed to revise President’s salary from 1.5 lakh to 5 lakh per month. Also, a hike in Governor’s salary from 1.10 lakh to 2.5 lakh is also being considered.
