Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati attacked the central government on Sunday by saying that it is spreading hatred and communalism in Uttar Pradesh and has failed to keep its promises. Mayawati said PM left the state in worse condition after election.
Mayawati was addressing a BSP rally at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar ground in Lucknow. Attacking the Modi government, the BSP supreme said the BJP-led government is spreading communalism and purposefully making crime cases against Dalits and minorities.
She also said that Dalits are being targeted in various parts of the country in the name of cow protection. Minorities and Dalits are being harassed, as BJP wants to convert India into a Hindu nation.
"Harassment of Dalits and minorities would stop in Uttar Pradesh when BSP government comes to power," Mayawati promised in the one of the large party gatherings. More than one lakh people had gathered at the rally in a huge ground in Lucknow.
During the rally least two people have died and 28 injured due to sudden stampede at Bahujan Samaj Party BSP rally in Uttar Pradesh. Several children are also reportedly missing after chaos broke out at the rally.
