Ganeshotsav festivities came to an end on Thursday after 11 days of festival on Anant Chaturdashi.

 
 Mumbai Police, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Navy, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and other agencies made elaborate arrangements for the safe and smooth conduct of the visarjan at all water bodies in the city and rest of the state.
 
Apart from this a massive police force deployed along with metal detectors, CCTV, dog squads and other security gadgets, the BMC has deployed divers, the Navy, firemen and ICG .

Popular immersion points for the large idols are the Arabian Sea, several beaches and creeks in Mumbai, l water bodies created by the BMC for immersion, lakes, ponds and wells.
