The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at 20 locations in Delhi and Haryana in connection with its investigation in the multi-crore industrial plot allotment scam in which ex-Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is named
CBI teams searched the homes and offices of Hooda and some bureaucrats in Delhi, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Chandigarh and Panchkula.
It had on May 21 had filed a case against Hooda and others relating to the allotment of 14 industrial plots during the previous Congress rule in the state.
The beneficiaries booked in the case are Renu Hooda, widow of the chief minister's nephew; Pardeep Kumar, Nandita Hooda, Mona Beri, , Ganesh Dutt Ratan, Manjot Kaur, Aman Gupta, Lt. Col. O.P. Dahiya (retd), Dagar Katyal, Siddharth Bharadwaj, Kanwar Preet Singh Sandhu, Ashok Verma, and Raman Kansal.
Agency said that 14 industrial plots in Panchkula were unlawfully allotted to private persons, mostly relatives of Hooda and HUDA officials, thus causing a loss to the exchequer.
