RSS introduces ‘Chanakya Shakha’ for ‘Swayamsewaks’

The newest branch of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) named after Chanakya - the author of Arthshastra is gradually taking shape. It is an exclusive club of ‘Swayamsewaks’ loaned out by the RSS from BJP.

 

The branch has members and associated in official capacity with ministers, MPs and party seniors. The members list includes personal assistants, additional private secretaries, private secretaries and officers on special duty. 

 

Set to take formal shape, the 'Chanakya Shakha’ is slated to hold its first official meeting this month and one of the primary issues on agenda is how to keep Sangh value system intact even while in close proximity to ruling powers. 

 

Unlike the traditional branches, this one will be a monthly affair. It is estimated that nearly 250 members are affiliated to this and has been in the works for some time but is finally now taking shape in a formal way. 

 

Among those said to be part of the ‘Chanakya Shakha’ are ‘Swayamsewaks’ associated with the offices of social justice minister TC Gehlot, steel minister Chaudhary Birendra Singh, MoS civil aviation Jayant Sinha, tourism minister Mahesh Sharma, I&B minister Venkaiah Naidu, MoS water resources Sanjeev Balyan, science & technology minister Harsh Vardhan.

 

Representatives of senior BJP leaders and other aligned intellectuals are also expected to participate. According to a report, mentioned in Economic Times, one of the members of this new branch confirmed that the first major meeting is planned after the Independence Day.
