GST Bill: Centre calls for state finance ministers meet

The fate of GST Amendment Bill hangs in balance as the Congress has hardened its stand with regards to its passage. 

 
According to website of ‘India Today’, the party is upset with the way ex-Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda has been served EC notice on charges of money laundering.
 
Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma accused the Centre of intentionally sabotaging its passage by needlessly targeting the party. 
 
"How does the restoration of property become a case of money laundering?" Sharma was quoted as saying by the website.
 
Government has called a meeting of the state finance ministers on Tuesday on the GST. 
 
The main Opposition party is also upset with the NDA government for disrupting the passage Private Members Bill moved by one of its MP'S Ramchandra Rao.
