According to the international news the Airline Group - SpiceJet, who was struggling for the survival about two years ago, now is planning to purchase about 100 single-aisle passenger airplanes. The expected deal itself is worth more than 11 billion dollar.
As reported in a news channel, Boeing Co and the Airbus Group are constantly trying to woo SpiceJet Limited to strike the deal. According to the reports, both the groups are offering aggressive discounts in negotiations.
SpiceJet needs to initiate 43-plane fleet quickly to give a business battle to their competitor IndiGo. The later airline currently controls 38.5 percent of the market and flies 108 aircraft.
A spokesperson of the SpiceJet confirmed during an interview to a news channel that Ajay Singh, Chariman – SpiceJet to attend the Farnborough Air Show in the UK this week.
“Singh is in conversations with both and that is the latest update,” says the spokesperson. However he is not sure about the formal announcement.
"We will continue to work with them on the fleet needs and look forward to delivering their first 737Max," Dinesh Keskar, Boeing's senior vice president for sales, told a media channel.
