Rajya Sabha voting is on in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh since Saturday morning.
Seven states are going to elect 27 Rajya Sabha members.
These include four each from Karnataka and Rajasthan, three from Madhya Pradesh, two each from Haryana and Jharkhand and one from Uttarakhand and 11 seats from Uttar Pradesh. The counting of votes will be taken up at 5 pm.
Out of 57 Upper House seats falling vacant, voting are taking place for only 27 seats as 30 candidates were declared elected unopposed on June 3.
Prominent among those in fray include Union Ministers – Piyush Goyal and Suresh Prabhu, senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misa Bharati and former JD(U) president Sharad Yadav.
