Chikungunya toll rises to 6 in 3 days

 As chikungunya cases rise in the capital, the toll of deaths from chikungunya has reached to 6 in just three days.

 
The victims include 75-year-old Prakash Kalra who was a resident of Mathura. The man died due to kidney failure as a result of complications arising from chikungunya.
 
Another man R Pandey, 65 years old man died after sepsis set in due to chikungunya fever. He was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital. 
 
Another 61 years old man also admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital lost his life to chikungunya on September 12. 
 
Earlier, a 22-year-old-woman died due to chest infection set in as a result of chikungunya, at MCD's Bara Hindu Rao Hospital on September 1.
 
Taking into notice these deaths, Delhi Government announced 1000 additional beds on Tuesday in three apex hospitals namely, Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, Janakpuri Super Speciality Hospital and Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital.
