Indian doctors claim to have developed Zika vaccine
With several people detected positive with Zika virus in Singapore, there is no doubt that it has reached the Asian continent. Amidst this, Bihar's Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (RMRIMS), a body under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), has claimed to have developed the first formula to create a vaccine against Zika virus.

However, before this, a Hyderabad based firm earlier applied for patent for vaccine, the authorities has said that both the vaccines are different.

As there is no trait of Zika in India, the researchers used online database of proteins made available by US-funded National Centre for Biotechnology Information to identify fragments of the proteins that would be combined with human cells to create immunity to fight Zika.

Also, their research has been sent to get published.
