Disturbed night sleep may invite suicidal thoughts
Lack of proper sleep tends to increase anxiety levels and fatigue of a person, as everybody knows. It may cause mood swings and agitation but it can also turn fatal by provoking you to end your own life.

According to study published in the journal BMJ Open, lack of good sleep may increase the risk of getting suicidal thoughts. Also, it may force you to attempt one.

The study was conducted on 18 participants who were interviewed about role that sleep problems play in aggravating suicidal tendencies.

In the study, three inter-related pathways to suicidal thoughts were noticed.

Firstly, due to lack of availability of resources at night, the lack of proper sleep led to increase in suicidal thoughts and attempts.

In second case, it was noticed that due to non achievement of good sleep at night, added to anxiety and depression of the participants that led to suicidal thoughts and attempts.

In third case, the participants notified that sleep acted as an escape from all suicidal thoughts. It consequently increased day time sleeping which further disturbed sleeping pattern.

The researchers told that in order to prevent such thoughts, night time sleep should be emphasized.
