In order to make Mumbai Darshan more green and clean- basically eco friendly, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) is planning to launch hybrid buses that consume less fuel as they operate on electricity, resulting in less air pollution and reduction in noise levels.
To do this, NMMT is planning to collaborate with Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). The corporation is proposing to include a couple of sightseeing destinations in Navi Mumbai.
The corporation believes their plan to be successful as there is considerable demand for Mumbai Darshan from the residents. The officials told ‘the Times of India’ that people often spend around Rs 600 for Mumbai Darshan, so they are assuming that a service by the corporation will be welcome. They will be discussing the prospect with MTDC and a decision is likely to be taken at the earliest.
