Goa Govt may covert mines into environment projects

Goa government may convert over used mining pits into environment projects soon as the Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar gave the idea by saying that these mining pits should converted into hospitality or environmental projects.
 

By this, the government wants to balance the environment.
 

Being part of Western Ghats, Goa needs to preserve its greenery, the Forest Minister Rajendra Arlekar.
 

The minister praised the ecological system of Goa and said that the ecology should be maintained.
 

According to the Chief Minister, all the precautions are taken by his government to ensure that the environment is not damaged.
 

Referring to his recent visit to Sesa Iron Ore's rehabilitated mining pit at Sanquelim village, the chief minister said other mine owners should learn from the rehabilitation executed by the company.
 

As a part of ‘Plantation Drive’, undertaken by the forest department of the government, the chief minister also planted a tree.
