Former JNU students' union prez Ashutosh Kumar joins the probe

Ashutosh Kumar produced himself before the police on February 27 to cooperate with the police investigation in the ‘anti-national sloganeering’ case of February 9.

Former JNU students’ union president, Ashutosh Kumar, who was too booked under the charges of sedition, has also joined the probe after he was summoned by the police on the night of February 26.

 He produced himself before the police on February 27 to cooperate with the police investigation in the ‘anti-national sloganeering’ case of February 9.
 
Ashustosh Kumar is the fourth student of the Jawaharlal Nehru University who is being questioned by the police in the ‘anti-national sloganeering’ case which which became talk of of the nation ever since it surfaced.
 
 Earlier, while talking to Policy Pulse, Ashutosh Kumar had said that they have been charged with sedition on the basis of doctored videos.
 
"JNU is more national than any other university as we are the one who don’t discriminate with students or people along regional ,communal or ethnic lines within the premises.” he had said while talking to Policy Pulse.
 
“Students from North East or South India never complain of any discrimination and all can voice their opinions within the premises.” he added.
 
Earlier, the police had arrested the current president of the JNUSU Kanhaiya Kumar on February 12 on the charges of sedition.
 
Besides Kanhaiya, Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya are in police custody for their alleged involvement in the ‘anti-national sloganeering’ case.
