MHRD to hold ‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is soon going to organize ‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’ which is a pan India 36 hour nonstop digital programming competition, in January-February 2017.

For the competition, students from all technological institutes across the country including IITs and NITs are invited.

The main reason behind organizing the competition is to discover digital yet sustainable innovative solutions to solve real time challenges faced by the nation. Also, it comes as another move towards Modi government's focus on digital technology and involving youngsters in tackling challenges being faced by the country.

As per several reports, the ministry has asked several other ministries to assign officers to identify at
least 30 problems that would be given to the contestants for solution.

To encourage and attract more and more youth, the ministry has also planned to give Rs 1 lakh as prize money to the winner of the contest.
