As India is all set to enter its 70th year independence, University Grants commission (UGC) has asked all the universities and affiliated colleges to celebrate ‘Freedom Fortnight’ from August 9 to 23 and the period will be called ‘Azadi 70’.

UGC has also released a set of activities that the universities and colleges are supposed to perform during the period. The activities include performance of mass singing of National Anthem on August 23 at 11 am.

Related to this, UGC secretary Jaspal Sandhu has asked students all over the country to celebrate and call the period as ‘Azadi 70’, ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’, or ‘Freedom Fortnight’.

Also, it has asked officials to make a report along with the photographs and videos on the basis of activities conducted by universities and colleges on the occasion of ‘Freedom Fortnight’.
