Delhi Government takes over branches of a private school
Due to violation of education department norms, Delhi Government has taken over the management of two branches of a private school.

The Rohini and Pitampura branches of Maxfort School lost their management to Delhi Government for violation of rules in admission to candidates from economically weaker sections (EWS), false records and misappropriation of funds, among others. This way, the branches violated the Delhi School Education (DSE) Act 1973 and Right to Education Act (RTE) 2009.

The Government of Delhi had constituted two committees to look into the complaints against the school. One was formed under the department of education and the other under the District Magistrate (DM) of north-west Delhi.

The step has been taken after getting prior approval from Lt Governor’s Office.

Maxfort School is run by Chadha Educational Society and S Jagat Singh Chadha Charitable Trust and has three branches of the school running in National Capital Territory.
