IIT Kharagpur to provide Urbanization course with MIT
India is developing with its villages turning into suburbs and urbanization taking place in almost every aspect of rural life. It has created a lot of demand of urban planners in market. So to prepare such urban planners, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur has planned to collaborate with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to launch a course in Urbanization.  
 
 
There is going to be collaboration between IIT's department of Architecture and Regional Planning and the MIT's School of Architecture and Planning.
 
 
A joint report on this will be produced by MIT and IIT and the presentation will be made at MIT in April 2017 as a two day colloquium.
 
 
The course will focus on exploration of ways in which planning can evolve practicable norms, within a given ecological, regulatory, and investment terrain and climate. 
 
 
Also it will see into the future relevance of diverse range of economic and social styles of activity, as well as a plurality of ecological and cultural terrains.
