Teachers lay the foundation of studies in students who are considered to be the future of any country. If teachers don’t the work assigned to them properly, the results can be devastating. So to assess time spent by teachers in non-teaching activities and its adverse impact on education, MHRD has decided to undertake a study.
 
 
The study will be conducted by National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA). 
 
 
Minister of State for Human Resource Department Upendra Kushwaha said that the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, no teacher shall be deployed for any non-educational purpose other than decennial census, disaster relief duties or duties related to elections to the local authority or state legislatures or Parliament.
 
 
Interestingly, a review committee was constituted last year recommended national entrance test for admission to teacher education programmes.
