After Smriti Irani got removed from the post of Hmuan Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Javadekar, on Thursday took the charge of HRD ministry and replaced Smriti who has been given the charge of Textiles Ministry.

Before this, Javadekar served as Minister of State and noticeably is the only state minister who has been promoted to the cabinet rank.
The minister has been given the post as a result of major cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minster Narendra Modi that took place on Tuesday.
Nevertheless, the minister has assured of converting all the challenges into opportunities. Also, he said that the ministry will co-operate with all the states.
Javedakar has also assured of reporting out good work and not to get involved in any controversy.
