First Dairy Science College proposed for MP state

To strengthen milk production or dairy sector in Madhya Pradesh, the Government recently took progressive step towards development of dairy sector. Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University in Jabalpur has proposed to establish Dairy Science College.

 

Proposals of establishment of college have been sent to the State administration for further approval. The proposal would help in increasing the human resource in this sector.

 

Jabalpur, being the prime dairy producer has immense possibilities for graduates in dairy science as well as students could be new entrepreneurs in this sector.

 

Research in the new college will enhance the productivity; research in breed correction as well as work on nutritional requirements will be initiated.

 

Higher authorities of ND Veterinary Science University, held a meeting with directors of National Dairy Research Centre, Karnal, and initiated talks of MoU.

 

Proposal for establishment of Dairy Science College in Madhya Pradesh has been submitted before the State Administration by Vice-Chancellor Professor Goel as well as before the Indian Council of Agriculture Research and Veterinary Council of India. 

 

The new education centre for Dairy Science will be first in Madhya Pradesh. Students will be given degree of V Dec.

 

Also students will be imparted about dairy operations as well as management of animal health, production and also about finances, nutrition and bovine health management.
