BJP and Congress compete each other to take credit for rollback of EPF tax withdrawals, with former taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi's claim that it was his pressure that prompted the Centre to backtrack on the controversial provision in the Budget.
He came under attack from Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, who said the Congress vice president was hurting poor by blocking vital legislations in Parliament.
BJP snubbed Rahul's claim, with Jaitley telling a news channel that Congress did nothing to create a social safety net for people when it was in government.
His party, while welcoming the move, sneered at Rahul for taking credit for rollback, saying, "Congress and Rahul Gandhi can take credit for all decisions. He can also take credit for GST and other bills passage if he let Parliament function and helps government pass bills. These are not the bills of BJP but of the country ."
