PM Modi has asked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to reconsider a proposal made in the recent budget, in which a part of the E Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal will be taxed, said reports in media.

He has reportedly asked  Jaitley to reconsider tax imposed on fund withdrawal after a massive noise over the proposal.

Reports suggest the PM has asked the finance minister to revisit the proposed tax on 60 percent of EPF withdrawal.

A meeting was said to have held in PMO in this regard. Reports also added that Jaitley may announce the exemptions in Parliament in next few days.
