PM chairs CCS meeting over ceasefire violations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to discuss situation at Line of Control.

The meeting comes after repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the LoC.

Last night, Pakistani troops targeted Indian posts with small firearms along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

There was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing, a police officer said.

On September 20, two days after Uri terror attack, Pakistani troops violated the border ceasefire in the same sector of Kashmir, targeting Indian army posts.

Two weeks before that, Pakistani Army pounded Indian positions with 120 mm mortar bombs and firing in Poonch district along the LoC.
