Cong to approach voters on development bank

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that his party will approach voter on development plank.

Three time chief minister, Tarun Gogoi said wind is blowing in favour of Congress in Assam which goes to polls in two phases next month and his party will approach the voter on the strength of development works.
"Under 15 year of congress rule insurgency besieged Assam has seen return of peace and unprecedented economic growth. We have managed to stop secret killing which took place during 1996-2001."
Secret killing refers to unidentified killing of family members of ULFA militants. There were series of such killing during the period the killer of which is yet to be identified.
Gogoi said during 2014 Lok Sabha polls Prime minister, Narendra Modi played illegal immigrant from Bangladesh card. "Modi campaigned that Assam is full of foreigners, one horn Rhino is being killed to settled foreigners, Modi promised corruption free government, and scarp land swap deal with Bangladesh and stop construction of mega dams."
He added backed with superb marketing strategies this plank of Modi had clicked however people are now upset and realized that these were false promises. "BJP says influx from Bangladesh however you (bjp) people are taking away employment and food from the mouth of people of Assam as there is drastic cut in the central fund to state."
BJP has made illegal influx from Bangladesh as prime election issue. Gogoi said BJP leaders do not talk about mission 84 plus anymore. Assam has 126 assembly seats. "Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and BJP cobbled up opportunistic alliance where there is no common minimum programme."
Gogoi lobbed political volley and said that he has asked the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as why investigation into the Louis Berger, multi crore shardha scam is slow. "I have asked the CID and will ask CBI as why the investigations in these cases are slow."
In the Louis Berger Guwahati Water Supply Project scam there are allegations on payment of bribe by officials of US-based Louis Berger Company to an Indian minister to win consultancy for water augmentation and sewerage project.
Former minister and now BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma was the minister for Guwahati Development Department (GDD) than. CBI has earlier quizzed Congress state unit president Anjan Dutta and Sarma in connection with Shardha Ponzi scheme.
