Alka Sirohi, retd IAS to become Chairperson, UPSC
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is getting its new chairperson as Alka Sirohi, a retired IAS officer of 1974 batch, Madhya Pradesh cadre, from September 21 and till further orders or until the completion of her term as UPSC Member on January 3, 2017, whichever is earlier
The retired officer, who belongs to Uttar Pradesh, became a member of UPSC after her retirement in January 2012.
Her achievements include becoming district magistrate of Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh, assistant collector in Gwalior district etc. 
Interestingly, she is the mind behind famous consumer affairs campaign: Jago Grahak Jago, which was both telecast in TV and broadcast in All India Radio.
