After the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) approved an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), former IAS officer J Satyanarayana has been appointed as part time chairperson of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Interestingly, the post has been vacant following resignation of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani's resignation in 2014.
Talking about Satyanarayana, he served an IAS officer of 1977 batch belonging to Andhra Pradesh cadre. The officer retired as Secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology.
Apart from him, technocrats Rajesh Jain and Anand Deshpande have been appointed as part-time members of the UIDAI.
